Michigan-based company specializes in events, hospitality PR

Ferndale, Mich. (April 1, 2016) – When Stephanie Angelyn Casola set out to start her own company, Prologue in early 2016, it doubled as a return to her roots.

The established, Detroit-based journalist-turned-PR and social media manager longed for days once spent in a fast-paced newsroom.

“After establishing myself as a reporter in the print industry, I veered toward public relations and social media as a way to take on new skills and weather a tumultuous economy,” Casola said. “Many years later, I’ve gained insight into the changing face of media - all of sides of it – and that proves beneficial to my clients.”

Casola is a graduate of Michigan State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree In journalism. She is an established media professional with more than two decades of experience. It ranges from her 11 years spent as a full-time reporter writing, designing pages and editing copy for the Observer & Eccentric Newspapers and contributing to magazines and online publications, to a solid reputation built in the public relations, social media. She previously worked in agencies ranging in size from startup to staffed-up and now specializes in the food, beverage, entertainment and hospitality industries. Throughout her career, Casola has always been an avid supporter of Detroit, its businesses and its sense of community.

“I am happiest when helping businesses grow and succeed,” Casola said. “Every job I have held has been a hard-working behind-the-scenes endeavor. I prefer it that way. Prologue is no different. This is about shining a light on those who give every ounce of energy to the work they believe in – be it a newly established restaurant, an event that brings people closer together, or a non-profit making positive change.”

Welcome to Prologue, the only venture rooted in writing, event and public relations services and offering an insider’s perspective of Detroit’s media and digital industries. Biography

Stephanie Angelyn Casola

Owner and Founder, Prologue

Stephanie Angelyn Casola founded Prologue in 2016 to provide writing, social media and professional PR services to businesses and individuals who are as passionate about what they do as she is about this work.

She brings a dynamic perspective to every project, having more than two decades of professional experience working with and in media. Stephanie started her career as a full-time reporter in metro Detroit covering everything from hard news and education to regular film and pop music reviews, art openings, as well as columns on health and beauty trends.

The social media landscape altered her course after 11 years as a published writer and copyeditor. An early technology adopter, Stephanie delved into the start-up world to manage online content and communities, before mastering roles in PR and event marketing. Working for start-up to small to medium-sized agencies in and around Detroit, she is responsible for concepts and media relations that have earned a steady stream of press and notoriety for consumer-facing businesses, with a distinct specialty in the food, beverage and hospitality fields.

Ask her what it’s like to sell out a beer event in short order, raise national attention for a locally beloved restaurant, or exactly what happens when a celebrity pops up for lunch at a venue she represents. There are stories to spare. Stephanie has always believed that everyone has his or her own story – one worth seeking out and sharing with the right audience.

Recently dubbed the "Queen Bee of hustle, media relations and coolness," Stephanie admits she’s addicted to wi-fi and minimalist design. She holds high expectations for coffee, craft beer and pizza. And she grew up a fan of scary movies. When she's not working, she's probably ducking into a movie, rock show or museum (so she'll text you after). Stephanie lives in the Detroit area. If you spot a MINI Cooper and wave, she'll likely do the same.
